    Default Car Seat Extender

Does anyone use one in their back seat? I've been considering them for my SUV, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

I can't say much about the aftermarket ones, but that was how I ordered the backseat of my 4 door dodge truck. The seats fold up and a platform folds out from underneath them that goes from the seat backs to the backs of the front seats (covering the foot wells). We throw down a couple of rugs or comforters, and voilá - dog world. We have travelled 1600 miles with three adult swissies back there, and more than once! It works wonderfully in vehicles not big enough for everyone's crates.

The back seat of my SUV folds down, but I don't like using it that way. There's still a little space between the front and back seats, and there's kind of a soft spot that their legs could get stuck in. These are things I didn't check out too carefully when buying the vehicle 2 years ago... There's decent space on the back seat, but I thought a little extra space for lounging would be nice.
