Interesting info on the nonverbal communication. That is how I primarily communicate with Basja (and people for that matter). She picks up facial and small hand gestures quicker than the verbal command.
That is an interesting article ... I didn't realize chimps didn't have the same ability to understand hand gestures.

I wish they had this program back when we toured Duke. I would have asked to watch some of it.
