Just seeing this now and so happy Zeo is alright. I have heard of that happening before and it sounds really scary. Duly noted!

I'm so glad she is OK!!! Hope you find something to keep her occupied in the crate... Mine don't fetch sticks, they just love to eat them if given the opportunity or they steal the opportunity...

I'm so glad Zeo is OK. We just did 6 weeks of crate rest with Delilah for her surgery. It was pretty sucky. I gave Delilah a lot of new toys but we didn't have a restriction on chewing. Can you give her a frozen banana/yogurt mixture frozen in a kong or something soft that just requires licking?

I also taught Delilah a lot of new things; keeping her brain busy made her tired, so she napped a lot. I taught her all of her body parts, and worked on counting (we were movement-restricted so I had to teach her things that did not require much movement).
But, learning new things really did tire her out.

Zeo is doing better and for the most part has resigned herself to crate rest. The only time she gets anxious is when we are outside and then it's a no win situation either way. If I bring her out on leash, she gets worked up wanting to play and if I leave her inside she howls her head off. At least we only have a couple more days.

We can't give her a kong, since she chews them. I tried to give her broth frozen in a dog dish, but she started digging at it and working herself up. So that was a no go as well. Hopefully Friday they'll give her the go ahead to get back to normal.

So glad Zeo is okay. I saw on emergency animal vet show once something like that happening, only the stick got lodged in the soft pallet of the mouth or something.
How horrifying for you and glad to hear doing better.
