    Default Cleo CAN get angry...

Umm. I have never, EVER heard Cleo angry until just now. Bit shaky still but...all of us (me and the 4 dogs) were out back. I'd filled up the Crabby sandbox with water (pics of that later when I am calmer)...and the dogs were playing in it and in the mud around it.

The dogs next door were jealous I guess because they kept on barking and barking at us (6' wood privacy fence)...mine were ignoring them mostly...intent on their own shenanigans.

Sully ran off past the dog area around a corner where I could not see him and then I hear this CRACK!! and a frenzy of barking and snarling and one YIPE!!!....I shot up but well, Cleo was a LOT faster (who knew she could move that fast??) and hit the corner first then things got REALLY loud.

Sully came shooting around the corner at top speed, I almost tripped over him...the other 2 girls are right behind me and then we come around the corner and see...
Cleo forcibly placing another dogs MUZZLE back thru the slat of the wood fence it broken in towards our side...they have an Aussie and I gather it wanted a piece of Sully? No idea but it BROKE...the damned fence and was at least able to get a muzzle thru. Cleo was PISSED...I have never ever seen her angry like that before...and hopefully never again. She sounded really scary...like a bear or a lion or something. Not even barking as much as ROARING.

I had to grab her TAIL and pull as hard as I could (sorry baby girl) and she "came back" to me and then looked back at the fence where the other dog had disappeared....they have a small terrier too and he was there but wanted NO part of coming thru...I had 4 loose dogs out but I figured Cleo was a real threat to the other dog if he came back while I put the hounds up so I put her up first.

Had to drag her...crate her then grabbed Sully who was shaking like a leaf and glued to my legs, crate him...then fetch the girls back into their run.

Ive' pushed the fence picket back onto the nail...but it'll have to be replaced when hubs gets home in a couple hours.

    IN-SANE.

I don't think Cleo liked that dog trying to get at Sully. Not. At. All.

Good girl Cleo! She showed them no one messes with her family!

ETA: Is Sully okay? Who did the "Yipe" come from? Him or the neighbour dog?

It was Sully...he was scared witless really. I checked him over and he seems fine. The dog is an Aussie so taller than he and the fence broke away up top...not at the bottom so I really don't see how he could have grabbed him since Sully ran so fast in the other direction LOL!

The hole was tho right at Cleo's level and I saw her air snapping and roaring and I have NO idea if she connected with the other dog. I will have hubs ask when he goes over to POINTEDLY ask them to keep their dogs inside while HE fixes the fence picket THEIR DOG, broke.

Cleo was panting so much I was worried, but she is slowly calming...I think.

yowzer..... so glad Cleo stepped in to take care of things. Sorry you're spooked- and I can totally understand why you were- but I'm sure when the adrenaline calms that you'll be glad she was there for your little guy and gals...

No,they aren't home I don't think. They're decent enough people...we've had issues with their little dog getting into the yard here before...and running around with Cleo lol. We'll hash it out some way...neither one of us want our dogs hurt.

Wow! I'd be shaky, too! I know it is surprising for Cleo on one level, but as strong as her maternal instinct is it really doesn't shock me that she would fiercely protect "her" pup.

    Instinct...It's a powerful thing..

Glad Cleo uses her powers for good not evil (like Birdie)..
    Hope little Sully recovers...

I know how frightening a situation like that can be..

Wow - I am glad all the puppers are okay on your side of the fence. At least you were right there to hear what happened and intervene. Some momma bear you have - I hope you never have to hear the roar again. Once was probably enough!

yes...it was! lol. I am shocked the dog would do that knowing I was in the yard. He seems a nice enough dog otherwise. Going out now to try and rig some ex pens so none of mine can get to that area....

I have heard a pyr roar before so maybe that is what came out of Cleo. It's not nice to P'off the hairy godmother. What a great girl she is. I know it scared the crap out of you though.

Glad the Cleo protected her family, but the fact that it was so sudden, loud, and so un-like Cleo I can only imagine how shaken up you must have been. Hope that little Sully is okay and not too traumatized by the whole event.

wow I can't even imagine. Cleo is an amazing soul. I always wondered what Daisy would do if she felt she had to protect, but on the other hand, I don't think I would want to see it.
