    Default These little guys...

Were surrendered to ESRA today in Mobile by their breeder because they are blind.

    They are enroute to Birmingham.

A trainer there has volunteered to take them and start working with them until ESRA can find them the special home they need..

    Aren't they adorable?

We suspect they have severe PRA. (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)
And yes, it is common in Springers.

best of luck to them, they're in great hands now! Do you guys have a genetic test for your PRA? Some breeds do...it like tells if the dog is a carrier affected or clear?

Yes, the Springer people do CERF.
Obviously, the backyard breeders do not.

I'm sure they will...agh, some people!

I noticed they are both tri-color. Aren't Springers usually black and white or liver and white? I don't think I've ever seen the light brown color on a Springer before.

There are tri-colored springers....You just don't see many of them.
The liver and white tri-colors remind me of caramel.

Have been transported down to Florida and are getting ready to be put up for adoption.
Wouldn't it be great for them to be able to go together?
