We just got home. He was having a rough time last night and this morning so they kept him a little longer than we had expected. The surgery itself went great, however his incision has ALOT of discharge this time and they just wanted to keep an eye on him for a little longer. He also was not coming out of the anasthesia as quick as they had hoped. AND, on top of all this he had explosive diarrhea most of today at the vets...poor kid (I'm sure it was nerves because as soon as he got home he was fine). He is a pretty chatty pup usually, but he was voicing his displeasure (at the TOP of his lungs) at not having any food since Sunday night, so they asked us if we could get him into the car quickly - hahahaha!! They really do love him there. He is laying in his favorite spot by the back door...sleeping, so I am gonna take a little nap. I have a picture of him in the car on the way home for you, Jodi, but I NEED a nap. I'll post the embarrassing shots tomorrow. Thank you all for keeping my kid in your thoughts, I know it helped!

Welcome home to Troll! I'm sorry he had diarrhea and incision issues. I hope he's doing OK now. Glad to see the update and I am looking forward to seeing photos. Do we get videos from the PT again? He was so cute in the water treadmill last time.

Thanks for thinking of me. I like stoned pictures... you would think I'd get enough of that at my job. Glad he is home safe and sound. I am especially glad (for you & Joe) that the wild pooping has ceased.

I'm so very glad that Troll is home and doing okay. I was worried about the big guy.

Just got off the phone with the doc and we are going to try some stuff for his tummy (the doc thinks the antibiotics are making it upset) since he isn't eating. Other than that, he SEEMS to be doing okay - his breathing is much better than it was yesterday, and he is still drinking and peeing okay. I just wish he would eat. Unfortunately, we (the docs and I) have decided that if he isn't eating by tomorrow he will have to go back to the hospital for some IV nutrition. Thanks for asking about him!

Well dang Troll. What is his most favorite thing in the entire world to eat? Maybe he is just sad you left him.

His most favorite thing is Peanut Butter (have you been chattin' with him, Pam??)
He has turned his nose away from everything we have offered. The Doc explained it pretty good to us, though. If his tummy is grumbly it's kinda the same as if you are nauseous...the LAST thing you want is some food stuck under your nose. So, I'm off to the pharmacy to pick up some stuffs to help ease his tummy grumbly...I hope. I really do NOT want to have to take him back to the hospital.

Well, it looks like the Bug will be going back to the vet tomorrow. We had a good day of eating, but now we are back to square one. The ONLY thing I can get him to eat is the Yummy Chummies and I know that is not the same as a good nutritious meal. The kid will just not eat anything else. And he is not using his leg at all now. I know that he is okay til the morning because he is letting me move his leg around and he is still letting me ice it and the incision is very nice looking - not red and infected, he is still drinking and peeing, he just wont eat. BUT since he has eaten the better part of a big bag of Chummies I guess that is better than nothing at all (he ate 3 good sized handfuls today). As for his meds - he is doing good with me crushing them and putting them in the pumpkin. At least it isn't a battle anymore
Keep my little boy in your thoughts, please. Ugh!! my ulcer is getting the better of me this week!!

Well, Yummy Chummies are quite yummy. Perhaps his sense of smell is messed up from the meds and surgery. The YCs are very strong smelling - we use them for training because of it. Hopefully he'll be back on track soon.
