JJ has another UTI... so we were at the vet's office on Friday... while we were waiting for the "big" room to open up i had the amazing opportunity to meet one of the luckiest dogs in the world...
This gentleman came in with a pittie (he said he thought he was a mix)... beautiful black and white.. but he had scars on his nose and at first i started to think maybe it was not such a good existence for this boy... his name was Shadow...
I then overheard him say that he wasn't sure how old he was and that he only had had him for a year. He said he "sort of rescued" Shadow. This dog had the sweetest smile and disposition. I started talking to him about Shadow. He said he had 2 other pitties, a brindle and a blue. Shadow showed up at a neighbors house one day. He was very malnourished and had scars all over him, cuts, and such. His wife told the neighbor to take the dog down to his shop where he worked and tell him to keep the dog there and take care of it until they could figure out where he needed to go to get help.
The man said that dog would not leave his side. He followed him everywhere he went. So he decided to name him Shadow and keep him (which is what his wife expected to happen, LOL). He said other than some issues with confinement he is the most wonderful dog ever. He has no aggression whatsoever even after the obvious abuse he had received before.
He told me his other 2 pitties are kennel trained but Shadow will only go in a kennel when forced to and then escapes within 5 minutes leaving no sign of how he got out. They had to set up a webcam and watch how he did it....
I had tears in my eyes when they called me and JJ back to exam room.
