    Default PACO Collars

Oh My we have Jasper and Janey PACO collars. These things should last them the rest of their lives. Holy Moly very very nice. When I took them out of the box they looked huge but look really nice on the dogs. I thought I ordered something different on Bubba's but have to go and look at the original order to make sure.

So, where's the pix of them modeling their collars? At least Jasper, I know Janie's a bit camera shy.

I'd love to see what you got! Are they heavy? I'm always concerned about the heaviness of leather, so I've avoided Paco collars. Do you think that's an issue?

Oh, and I totally agree that putting a collar on a pyr makes it immediately disappear. It's funny. Milton's collar is gorgeous, but I have to move his fur to catch a glimpse LOL

The blocky collar I got for Abby is way heavier than these from Paco. They are pretty stiff but we will work on that. I had a bit of trouble getting Jaspers buckled. I don't leave collars on my dogs all the time. Too noisy with hardwood floors and the constant jumping up and down to see what squirrel, crow, jet, fox, deer, etc is around.

That sounds good. We're leaving collars on right now b/c Milton is so squirrely I am afraid he will get out and since he is not chipped yet I leave his collar on (we needed to take care of the basic vetting, ousting of all of the various parasites (5!), and blood work to make sure that he is generally OK and without TBDs, and all of that jazz....that seems endless, first and I don't want to him to deal with the pain of that procedure without analgesics while he is still so scared of everything).

Collars are definitely noisy on hardwoods and in general. I am looking forward to having a more calm and less spaztic dog so that I feel a little better about the collar deal.

Thanks for the info on Paco collars. That's interesting that Paco collars are lighter than blocky collars. I had a metal-buckle side release for Oliver a while back and I realized that it was unreasonably heavy for an older dog (even though he was 150lbs), so I switched him at that time and now I just use the lightest possible collars at this point so that their necks are not stressed.

Paco collars would be nice for certain occasions though, I think.

Pam, they do soften up a little, but it takes time, and I agree that the Blocky's are guite a bit heavier.

    I wanna see 'em!!!

Tink has the Isaboo and I just love it - Troll had the Griffin, and now I need to figure out what I want to get for the Doof - he needs one too!

OK here are the Collars. Jasper has the black Berlin and Janey has the brown Tahoe. Jaspers is a bit heavier because it is doubled but still lighter than the Blockie. I got their names engraved for just $5.00 more.

I did make a mistake on my original order but really its no big deal. I meant to get Janey's in brass and Jaspers in silver but had it reversed.

    Beautiful collars.

Jasper has really grown into his "pyr-ness".

They are gorgeous collars for gorgeous dogs!

My dogs are chipped but they wear their collars and tags 24x7 The only times they have ever gone with out, one or more have gotten out. Murphy's Law.

Sam, chipping doesn't hurt them that much.

Mine are chipped and wear collars/tags 24/7 too. But, currently, Ms. Zoey thinks tags are really fun to play with (hers and the Swissies) so all of their tags are off right now, and I keep having this fear that this is going to be the first time one of them gets loose. I really hope Murphy's Law doesn't come into play!

One of the studs has come out of Jaspers collar. Not one of the decorative ones but one that holds the buckle. I have emailed paco to see if they can fix it.
