    Default The night eater

Cleo is a grazer...she gets her 5-6c. per day and it will last...all day. But I didn't know til I slept on the couch last night WHEN she eats most of that lol. I mean she picks thruout the day and when the dh gets home she eats a lot it seems...

BUT I woke up at about 1am last night to these strange sounds..."cronch cronch gulp",...

I was kinda freaked. In that in between place you are when you first wake up...and last I saw Cleo she was in her crate (she crates herself, sometimes I seal her in, sometimes I don't). I grabbed the iTouch and turned it on for light and there is Cleo in the kitchen looking all guilty...eating. LOL.

This morning..her food was gone. She is one who prefers to take her meals under cover of darkness I guess...lol!

Maybe she feels like she can't REALLY eat until her job is done for the day and at 1am, everyone is finally down and she can relax?

she is weird. The first dog I have EVER owned that picks at food. She likes her food...but she just doesn't find it nearly as interesting as the hounds do.

They would (and have) run over their own mother's to get to a bowl of dog food. Cleo eats when someone tells her to (like I say..."Cleo I don't like you staring at me, if you are going to be in this kitchen...eat. Otherwise GIT") and she will take some bites LOL!! Then like I said my dh's arrival home always triggers her to eat...or if we all go out and come home...she eats...etc.

Probably on to something there. She is such a mother hen. Seriously. She already has more grey in her muzzle than she should because she's always fussing and such over one or another of us. *sigh*

I guess as long as it doesn't develop into some kind of eating disorder like binging and purging, you should be okay.

    Too bad.

There is a twitter thing coming out for dogs. I have to find the link. I think Cleo should get one.
