    Default Bree's ankle

Miss Bree will be turning 13 in July, Yay. Miss Bree has been gnawing on her right front ankle for four months and I have done every single thing I can think of to get her to stop including lazer therapy from the vet. But that turned out to be a little too expensive and time intensive.

So we finally bit the bullet and went in again and got anti-inflammatories and anti-biotics and pumpkin (for poopage problems) and the dreaded CONE. Poor thing she's crashing into everything. But I couldn't stand it anymore and was paying a fortune anyway with huge bottles of fortified glucosamine, vitamin E, aloe vera, topical cleansers, etc.

I hate hot spots and while I hate seeing her fumble around with that damn cone on I'd like her to not chew off her own foot.

    There I'm done.

Poor Bree, I hope this will allow her ankle to heal. Keera used to chew warts off her front feet, but once they were gone she was alright.

I hope Bree's ankle feels better soon.
Is it her joint or her skin that's bothering her?

Poor girl! I hope she can leave it alone enough to heal! I'm sorry but we need a "cone of shame" picture.

Poor thing! Try some medicated Gold Bond powder to dry it out.

Cone of shame piccie coming soon. Gold bond powder on hand if it keeps "weeping" but hopefully the anitbiotics will kick in soon and take care of that along with said Cone to prevent further self-mutilating activity.

She has arthritis in her ancient joints so that and the thrill of messing with her skin is the hypothesized cause for all this crazy-making she's doing. I can't stop following her around petting, kissing, and cooing over her.

Bryn had an actual hissy fit about it last night. Jeff brushed him to give him attention and, well brush him, and when I went out to say hello Bryn started barking at this brain piercing high pitched puppy bark and sitting back on his haunches and BEGGING for my attention. Attention W....re.

Is it a hot spot or a lick granuloma?

Those cones are a pain in the butt for the humans.
    Get well soon Miss Bree..

Jeff took a VERY lovely picture of her. She has not looked quite so dignitfied in real life but I am not going to display my hair-ridden house (I do vacuum but its never enough and I look like a lazy pig/mom) to you guys where she is most herself like crashing into the wall and looking pathetic at the snot-nosed windows. She is, however, learning pretty quickly to negotiate the stairs and stuff so she's not quite so pathetic looking. After I clean the slobber and stuff you'll get to see her drinking water (if we can get the shot) of her drinking water) with her cone encompassing the water bowl. But for now, thankfully, but unfunilly, she is ajusting pretty well after only a couple of days. Oh, yeah and hand feeding from mommy...and lots of love and kissies and mooshies and attentionz and stuff.

OK, cuteness to come, but I also need help! Talk about a co-dependent family!!!!!! I have some adorable shots of Bryn licking Bree's ears which he does faithfully every night, now, in spite of the cone. So we have conjoined dogs via a head cone. Very cute and loving. Pics to follow.

However, I just busted him licking her lick granuloma on her leg, for which all of this mashugana (crazy making) stuff is happening for her the co-dependent shtbird!!! How do I combat this?????? Help!!!!!
