Default AL - ESRA's newest projects

This is Mercy (because she is in dire need of some). She was pulled from the Chilton County shelter yesterday after being surrendered. She weighs only 27 pounds and has mange. Her feet are bleeding. Her toenails are so long it doesn't look like she has been allowed out to walk. She has recently had puppies - and is probably a puppy mill breeder dog. She is in foster care today.

We are pulling this little girl from the Mobile County shelter on Tuesday.

How sad. That dog has just gotten the best thing that could ever have happened to her. Can't wait to see her even in just a week.

The rest of her life is destined to be wonderful. Same with whatever family is lucky enough to adopt her.

Bless her heart, and all the wonderful work ESRA does. Our Cody was an ESRA special needs guy 4 1/2 years ago. I hope we can continue to see her progress.

The puppy has a name now - she is now Jewel...She went to her foster home in Birmingham yesterday.
She should be on the website shortly available for adoption.

Poor Mercy is going to need a lot of care and lots of love before she is ready for her forever home.
But we'll make sure she gets the one that she deserves.

She really does look great for the amount of time she has been in foster care..
Some good nutrition, TLC and her mange is gone.
Knowing how miserable she must have been and thinking about how good she feels now in this short amount of time...Pretty incredible.

She's got a bright future ahead of her.
