    Default Pet Armor Flea/tick control

Ok, I am probably the last person on the planet, apparently, to find out that frontline lost their patent and now they are able to make the same stuff in a generic form for way cheaper. I have been online and read the reviews for this, and it does appear to be the same ingredients as frontline. The reviews show that most people like it. There are some reviews of people who didn't, but lets face it, frontline does not work for everyone, I do believe what I have heard that the fleas become resistant to it and they have to try something else. But so far, frontline has been a lifesaver for us, and not failed us. You can buy Pet Armor for $28 at Wal Mart! That is, if you are lucky enough to find it in stocked, apparently, they cannot keep it on the shelves fast enough. I was lucky enough to get the one box they had left. I put it on Great this morning, it appears to look the same, and for any of you who have been unfortunate to get the "knockoff" frontline stuff (I did once before), I was instantly suspicious, because it did not spread about the same or have that "greasy" look to it after you first apply it. I was wondering if any of you have heard of Pet Armor and have any of you tried it? I probably should have asked here before putting it on her, but she was due for it, and it is hot here in FL, didn't want to take chances of a flea outbreak. I would love to hear opinions about this stuff!

We actually use Vectra 3-D on Abby. Our vet said that they've found that to be more effective than Frontline, and so far I have to agree. In a year I've only found one tick on Abby, and it was immediately after she had come in and it hadn't attached.

Funny you mention this- I was in Walmart yesterday and was accosted by an employee with a pamphlet for Pet Armour.

I'm amazed that one even made eye contact. I go into Walmart and they head for the hills.

I have not heard of Pet Armor. I do know that you can now get Frontline other places than the vet (Costco, Target, PetsMart, etc.), and it's actual Frontline, not the knock off stuff. Like Kelly we have really been liking Vectra 3-D, it's cheaper than Frontline too. But, I'm pretty sure that if you have cats you are not supposed to use it on your dog. Also, as far as I know, Vectra 3-D can only be purchased from a vet.

It must be a "Minnesota nice" thing, they are overly helpful. It's the first time I'd heard of it as well.

Frontline did not work for us so I don't think I have much hope in a generic version either. My neighbors swear by it though, so I will mention to them that there is a generic.

I am going to try the generic one. Frontline kinda works for us. I have to use the pills for our Parson though. He turns flaming pink with any topical flea stuff.

From what I've heard the Pet Armour is made in India. I haven't checked this myself, but if country of maufacturer is important to you, I'd do some research.

Edit: from a friend that was looking at it at Sam's, she said it is on the box that it is made in India.

We switched from Frontline to Advantix several years ago after Abby started having a reaction evertytime we put frontline on her.

the head vet in LA county (she is on animal planet all the time) was on and promoting it for Wal Mart. I think with 6-8 dogs all the time, I am going to try it. sure would save me a bundle!
