Battery Backup/surge protector

What is a good battery backup/surge protector to get? I am now doing contract coding work from home and not working for a particular hospital so I need to get my own. I have a lot of power surges up here on the mountain with brief power outages several times a week.

I would look for an APC. The model depends on what you will have plugged into it.

Well, they each have a certain capacity for surge and battery life. You would need to calculate what output your devices have to determine what will give you the right protection and battery.
