Default This one will break your heart

ESRA is pulling her on Thursday. She was brought to the shelter in B'ham by the police department. They found her by the side of the road suffering in the heat. She was treated for heat stroke and is expected to recover. She has no tags and no chip.

She was in the area where the tornados went through and has obviously been on her own for a while. She has to have been someone's dog at some point - she's a fairly rare (for this area) lemon and white Springer and is a tripod.

ESRA is going to work to try and find her family.

Someone cared enough to rehab her through her amputation surgery - that's a lot of time and money put into the sweet girl. You don't do that and then throw a dog away. I'll pray for a happy reunion with a family that has been missing her.

I hope so too Karen. I would love for her to find her family and have a happy ending.
The thoughts of her struggling in 100 degree plus heat on three legs with no food or water just breaks my heart.

The conditions in the storm area are still really bad for lots of people and animals.

She needed an angel and she got one.

we had a similar incident. A shih tzu was found stuck to the hot pavement as people were walking by. She was suffering from heat stroke. she is in rescue now. It is terrible what these poor animals have had to go through.
So glad ESRA got to her. Prayers for her.

Sweet sweet baby. I so hope she has a loving, concerned family looking for her. Bless ESRA... you guys are the BEST and hold a very special place in my heart. The good you do is a daily blessing in our house. Please keep us posted on her.

Safe in the arms of ESRA-AL. She just won the doggy lotto.

Kim the weather channel was establishing a data base for lost animals after the storm. I don't know how it works but you could check it out.

There is a Facebook group working on this as well.

I know that the ESRA folks want her to find her family. Our goal was to get her out of the shelter. There is a good chance based on where she was found that her people don't have a home either. Lots of displaced animals and people. And yet another good reason to make sure your pets are chipped.

you can tell that she feels safe. I hope her people can be found, but if not, I know ESRA will find a family who will love her forever.
