    Default Nail Bed Question

Abby is the first dog I've ever had with white nails, so this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this. Should I be worried about this? She isn't limping or physically affected by it, and she doesn't appear to be in any pain or distress if I touch it. Should I just keep an eye on it or does she need to be seen?

Kennedy has the same thing on a couple of her nails - I thought it was from them being a bit long and during rough play she banged them.

OK, thanks. Her quicks are so long so her overall nail length is pretty long. Do they go away over time or just stay there?

My dogs have all had mixed colors of nails (some black, some tan, some white) so it's hard to keep track of the spots and weird patterns since each nail is different looking, so I cannot remember if I've seen something just like that.
To help the quicks recede, you can trim the nails every 5 days.

I have to tell you I am utterly sick now from googling "dog nail fungus" and "dog nail diseases" ---- the human feet pix are just too grody! I dont think its anything to be concerned about.

Lora I LOVE Googling things like that!

I have no idea about the color - looks fine to me - but I do concur that the more often you trim their nails, the more recession you will see with the quick.

And I love your fingernail polish color.

    Thanks all!

Yes, I felt fall-ish the other day when I got them done. It is called "Louvre Me Louvre Me Not" by OPI.
