So we have one female (human) friend with whom Cash is utterly obsessed. He has never tried to hump the leg of any human except her. When she comes around he goes completely ballistic, horny adolescent. She is good about telling him no and requesting an acceptable behavior (down, sit, kennel up, get your ball) and he tries to control himself for a few minutes, but inevitably he loses it again. At least she isn't the least bit freaked out and is willing to assert herself, but any thoughts on why this ONE person makes him so crazy? He likes other women, but isn't out of control except with her. Honestly, he looks like he's trying to control himself around her. He'll start to paw at her and quickly stop. When he gets "humpy" he'll try to sit down. He seems to know he's wrong, but just gets carried away by his hormones. Thoughts are much appreciated.

Does she have dogs at home? My sister had a dog that would pee instantly the second he saw one of my brother's friends. Come to find out the guy almost always had a female in heat at his house.

Could it be a dominance thing?....maybe he is trying to assert himself on her because she isn't submissive around him. Maybe keep him on a leash when she is over so he knows he can't approach her unless you ok it. Good luck I know that can be embarrasing even though dog people understand

I don't want to be gross or anything but if she's got a female problem going on, UTI...or anything that might increase an estrogen level like hormone replacement? or just her period...sometimes that can trigger it. I also would second the other dog at home thing as well.

I hadn't thought about the simplicity of her cycle or something like that. Duh!!

It could be a dominance thing, I suppose, but it doesn't look like it. Most of our friends are dog people and willing to assert themselves with him and he doesn't react this way to others.

She does have a female Chihuahua, but she is spayed. Maybe that's still it, though? Again, many of our friends have spayed female dogs and Cash doesn't care a bit.

Who knows. We're working with him when she's over, trying to keep him from becoming so excited in the first place through distractions and jobs.
