Default Zen in the dog house....

Somehow during all this hospice work with my mom, zen found a medical rubber glove to swallow. She had been throwing up chunks of food for a couple days but I just chalked it up to her eating more grass. Well that was until she threw up the glove today. So of ALL days...zen had to go to emergency for x-rays and bloodwork just to make sure nothing else was stuck in there. 500$ later but she gets the ALL CLEAR. Thank goodness for pet insurance....

So happy my girl is ok. Can you imagine if I lose my mom AND my dog has to have emergency surgery at the same time. I would have lost it. As it stands, our friends are watching the kids this weeken and me, my husband and our dog are going away for a couple days. Don't know where yet... But thank goodness my Zen (and her name is truly becoming very fitting for me) gets to come. Can't love he anymore if I tried. Stupid dog...going to sew her lips closed, I swear!

And don't ask me where she found that damn glove! We had a habit of putting up all the waste baskets on the counters when we were over at my mom's.. for that VERY REASON. We didn't want Ms. Hoover vacuum cleaner to get into them. All i can think of is maybe one got missed when the nurse was here and it fell under the bed or something... sigh.

Aww, so glad that she's OK. Nothing like a little extra stress! Puppies can really add to the stress with their random weirdnesses.
It's really wonderful that you get to take some time with your husband and Zen and that you are so bonded.

Im so glad she is ok, wow that is scary. Melanie have a great time this weekend. Take a break and reflect, things will get easier as time goes on, and know that you are a wonderful daughter that did her very best, your mother was a lucky woman. And Miss zen, stop scaring your mom like that!

Howie. I cannot even imagine looking at my dog vomiting and watching a rubber glove pop out. I would freak just a bit.

Hope your weekend away is nice and calm.
