    TOPIC THIS WEEK 11/04:

    "My dogs favorite toy is..."

Have fun with this one! I know we have some interesting choices out there when it comes to toy buying.

Cleo's is anything soft and fuzzy she can carry around and lay down and suck on...gross.

The Beagles are Sonic Tot toys...no idea why. They love to carry them and fetch them both. EVERY Beagle I have ever owned, has been obsessed with them. Perhaps because they smell like corndogs? LOL.

Basja's was her stuffed opossum from Target. It was the only stuffie she knew by name and loved to snuggle, tug and toss- actually I still have 'possum2, I still tear up when I come across it in boxes. 'Possum one got too grody and destuffed and was replaced 3 years ago.

Favorite toy...... well their ABSOLUTE favorite, even though WE don't consider it a toy is anything edible that is mistakenly left within their reach that we leave unguarded.

They also LOVE grasshoppers. In the fall when the hoppers slow down a bit I find dead grasshoppers in the strangest places. They bring them in and them toss them, whack them with their paws, nudge them with their noses. Watching the poor tormented creatures try to hop away is the height of doggie entertainment around here YUCK.

Their favorite commercially bought toy is their everlasting fun ball, stuffed with, you guessed it TREATS.

For non-food items it would have to be antlers. They adore their antlers, almost as much as their edible treats. Antlers are the only thing that has ever caused bickering between the dogs. They have never fought over them, but we always have several around the house. It might get ugly if there were only one.......

Max's favorite toy is his Kong bone, we have had it almost as long as we have had him. Lola's favorite toy is anything she can destroy, stuffies are the best for that, at least according to her

Brutus and Rufus's favorite toy is a Kong Cobra. So excited, I found a Grey/orange/black one at a dog show last weekend. They LOVE them

Jolly Balls on a rope are played with very regularly (tugged, flung, carried, bounced, chased...). They got their first jolly ball with the handle today.
Those large cuz balls that squeak loudly are a big fave
Antlers are used a couple of times a day for chewing fun.
The stuffies are flung around and tugged on -- and then Milton sits down to destuff or dismantle, so they have to put away relatively quickly [or, we just let him finish them off, occasionally].
Delilah loves this dragon we got her when she was a young little girl. She still carries is proudly, but I have to make sure Milton doesn't dismantle it. They both like the fleecey toys, too.

Abby has this squeaker toy I had found on Petsmart that is similar to this: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...id=body_rv_txt. It is a blue crocodile of sorts, and it has about 10 squeakers. She normally isn't one to get excited about the squeakers in toys but she LOVES this one! Her second favorite is probably her Everlast Treat Ball.

Samantha I swear I should send you my Jolly Ball. After you recommended it I purchased one and Abby doesn't like it so it sits unused. Is this the kind your kiddos like http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2751028?

Aww, I'm sorry she doesn't like that ball.
The ones we use are these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006344LW/...SIN=B0006344LW
They are soft enough to grip and the rope allows them to fling them around while prancing around proudly of their awesome tossing skills.
This one just arrived today (not sure if it's going to popular here because the one with the rope can be winged across the room really easily while also acting as a tug-of-war rope): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...12E963BGKHCDKV

So you've weaponized Delilah and Milton? I don't know that I could trust Abby with that toy. She could play baseball - that dog has a cannon!

Indy loves her magic mushroom. It's the best thing ever when it's filled with food. Ozzy loves anything with a squeaky. Or the laser pointer.

Morgan loves balls. (ha!) But seriously, that dog freaks over anything that is round shaped and she can fit in her mouth (ok, that's enough).

Tek loves, loves, loves his nylabone. Only this one, though http://www.nylabone.com/product-find...ction-chew.htm He gets a new one every so often because he chews them so much he'll make sharp edges and start bleeding.

Ha Yeah, I guess the jolly balls with ropes are sort of weapons, but they do cute stuff with them and play tug and run around together both grabbing opposite sides of the ball/rope (they run shoulder to shoulder all around the house). The do sometimes fling them, but we haven't suffered any injuries or losses, yet LOL

Nick loves stuffies but only because he wants to destroy them, so nothing lasts long enough to be a fave. They both chew on antlers and nylabones, but again, no faves. Honestly, I think their favorite toys are each other because that's what they play with the most (and also chew on!).

Here too, nothing is better than chewing, jumping on, pouncing, or sneak attacking a sister!

Haven't tried jolly balls since Solly, aka "the jaws of death" was around. He could shred one in 5 minutes.

Xena, however, has a confession to make. My name is Xena and I am a Cuz addict.

Zen loves her stuffed dog. She likes to wrestle on it and then sucks on its ear for awhile.

Oh, we lost the Jolly Ball with the handle within a few days of it's arrival: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...12E963BGKHCDKV -- Miltie is a very efficient dismantler of all toys and this one just did not measure up.
So, I guess we'll stick to the ones with the ropes through them.
