Poor barking cow. Poor you. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

What the vet had explained COULD happen - If his adrenal glands were breaking down but not dead 2 years ago and the pred was introduce and that would allow them to stop producing or be dormant until the time he went off pred. They started doing their job again and are back into the faze of "dying"

BUT I don't think this is happening.

Today when I pick up his poop I noticed these little yellow pods in it - and remembered I saw them the other day but smaller. Vet was already gone for the day so I started looking online and found that dogs can have gallstones but not like the people kind - they are clay like in texture.

"the symptoms for gallbladder problems are very similar to many other conditions, such as vomiting, poor appetite, lethargy, pale colored stools, weakness, poor coat condition, and a tell tale sign of jaundice of which the eyes and gums seem to have a yellowish tinge to them. Gallbladder problems in your dog can be treated with antibiotics for the non-obstructive problems."

He didn't have the jaundice tho. He has been on Baytril and Doxy. for 4 days now and it look like it's working - or as least I hope that what I'm seeing!

He came downstairs to eat tonight - first time in a week!! When he finished he waited for me to make more and ate that. THEN he got a toy and wanted to play!!!

I was looking at the blood panel from his first episode 3 years ago and it's near identical to this one which is why I couldn't get the leukemia or addison's. BUT time will tell - I really want to finish this course of antibiotics then see where he is.

If he's perking up, I think that waiting until the cycle of antibiotics is over is a good idea. Praying that his upswing continues.

    Tru is doing great today!!

we walked twice this morning, a short quickie then a friend stopped by with her dog and we walked again. He is eating kibble now as I type this. He is moving around and happy - well, a bit cranky with his sister. I think he wants me all to himself for a bit.

Thanks for all the well wishes!!

I am just now seeing this...I'm so sorry Tru is having issues, but I am VERY glad to hear he's beginning to feel better. I hope that trend continues. HUGS for both of you!
