Last month when i came home i found something under the skin on JJ's flank just in front of her right leg. i really could not see it and it was not that big. So i figured i'd wait until i came home again to check it. It had doubled in size and looked very similar to the last mast cell tumor she had in March.
Also last week Jerry said that her eye had been oozing blood just like a mucus drainage. When i looked at her last night i saw something on the inner eyelid and thought it was a scratch that was inflamed and irritated. So today i made an appointment to see the vet for these 2 things.
This growth on her flank is definitely a mast cell tumor and the spot on her inner eyelid (third eyelid) is actually a growth. The vet is more concerned about this than he is the mast cell tumor. He said that the majority of the time these turn out to be carcinoma but he has seen them come back as inflammatory processes or clogged ducts.
Also while he has her under sedation he is going to take off a large skin tag on her right elbow. It used to be 2 skin tags and now these have grown together and just keep getting bigger. seriously it is about an inch long and 1/2 inch wide.
So i have to go back to Jacksonville Sunday. She is scheduled for the surgery on Tuesday. Chris (our son) will take her there in the morning and Jerry will pick her up in the afternoon. I am very worried about her. I wish i could be here with her but it is just not a possibility.
So ya'll keep her in your thoughts and prayers, please!
