JJ is doing well. she got her stitches/staples out the Monday before Thanksgiving.
The vet finally got the path report yesterday. They had to contact the vet lab to get them to resend the results. Its a fairly good report overall - eyelid lesion was precancerous and the mast cell tumor is grade II which is not too bad - i think the same grade as the one that was on her backside earlier this year.

Glad she is doing well! So with the results, does that mean she does not require any further treatment?
If dogs could talk, it would take a lot of the fun out of owning one. ~Andy Rooney
Those are great results! Glad she's doing well
I was wondering what you found out. I thought I missed it. Hang in there girls. You will feel a lot better when you are all back together again.
No, not unless the one on the eye comes back. if so, then he will go in and take out the entire third eyelid. I am doing some more research on my own to see what other treatments are out there for the MCT (Mast Cell Tumor) but even though this is one of the most common tumors in dogs there really has not been a lot of good research on them for prevention or treatment other than surgical.
I did have her on the turmeric since around March/April after her first surgery as there was some anecdotal evidence that this was helpful in prevention in some dogs. But since that did not seem to be too helpful for JJ, I decided to take her off of them when they ran out.

Val did you look at the National Canine cancer site? I think they are financing a mast cell research grant now. I will see if I can find it for you.
Nope sorry its hemangiosarcoma they are doing a lot with. But here is the link to their library and Mast Cell

I am glad that the results came back as good as you could have hoped for right? I hope the eye one is gone for good. *fingers crossed*
