Zeus had surgery today

I guess it slipped my mind to mention it but Zeus went in for surgery today (well actually yesterday since its after midnight now). I had planned on getting 2, maybe 3 teeth pulled and well that turned into 5 poor guy.

I also got the huge tumor on his side taken off. The vet scared me into getting it debrided. He told me it was attached to his ribs and infiltrative and would be what kills Zeus. They removed it (size of baseball) and it turned out to be a lipoma that had grown under his muscles which is uncommon. It had not attached to the ribs and they were able to get it out completely. YEY!!! Im so relieved. I kept expecting a call today to have to make a "decision"

My poor guy is hurting. He did eat when he got home but has had the shakes from coming off the anesthetic. Im hoping he has an ok night.

Thank you guys. He's doing pretty well this morning. The bloody drool is at a minimum. He ate breakfast "con gusto" and is lounging in a sunspot on the carpet by the window. I got a couple of pictures of the incision.

Crazy isnt it. My vet said the ones you have to worry about are the ones on the ribs as they attach to the ribs and spread them apart infiltrating the lung tissue. This type, although not a common type, are most commonly found in Labs.
