Default A dog story by the non-dog owner! Yay!

So Dylan and I had just had the car wash and were headed home. We were stopped at a light to turn left and he says "hey, look at those dogs!" who immediately cross the street we're to turn left to. Dylan says "hey, who's with them?". And they are obviously on the run. I think "this will not end well for them" as we're turning left so I said to Dylan, let's go find them. We made a U-turn and went back down onto the busy street. They were still going. We followed them and they stopped near a bus stop. I was hoping they'd linger 'cause there were most likely some good smells. So we pulled into the parking lot of a smaller pet store near by and I get out and they come right to me. A very pretty yellow lab and a little poodle/terrier something. The lab had a tag and the little dog had an e-collar. I tried to see if they'd hop in my car but they didn't want to so we took them into the pet store.

The pet store workers were really nice and helpful as I'm leading two dogs (and a 4 year old) in by collar only. They left a message for the owners while I un-triple parked my car and got my keys out of the ignition. They said they could board them for a bit so I left my number and said I'd come get them before closing if no one claimed them.

I called about 7pm and the owners had come in to get them both.

So glad we turned around. They were not worried about going into traffic.

Yay! Dylan and Amy to the Rescue!

So you don't have 2 dogs today - oh well. But thank you for protecting and saving them. Dylan is on my child-napping list. You should be proud.

Awww, that's so awesome Amy! I'm so glad Dylan was with you, too, because he's learning from a very early age how to do the right thing.

Awesome! I am so glad they got rescued - dogs+traffic never end well.

I tried to do this last week too, unfortunately the dog was a very wary pitty girl and I could not get anywhere close to her, even with treats. I just hope she found her way home.

I think we will be the camp connell kennel for awhile still. Maybe when the baby is three or four we'll look at getting another dog.

And ya...I'm so glad it turned out well. Yay!

Amy, you are my hero. And your kid's as well. You should be so proud of who you are and the example you are setting.
