I am planning to continue to work Lowe in Nose work. What do you think is the right kind of harness for her to work in. Right now I work her on collar but I think at times it distracts her. Is a Leather harness better then a nice nylon one?

We've done nose work with Abby, and I've always worked her on the Freedom No-Pull Harness by Wiggles, Wags and Whiskers. Abby doesn't necessarily get distracted by the harness, but certainly depending on the attachment point of the leash I can see where the harness might have more benefits than the traditional collar. There have been times with that harness where I've opted to have the leash attach to the control loop on the back rather than the chest just because of how the leash gets in the way. Having never used a leather harness I'm not sure which is considered to be more comfortable or better for the nose work. Abby does a pretty good job with knowing when she's working and staying focused providing I don't overwork her. Our classes are an hour long and I can definitely tell without even looking at a watch when we're nearing the one hour mark because that's about when her brain gets full and then distractions set in.
