    Unhappy Chelle's Dogs

They are looking to rehome 3 of Chelle's dogs. They have asked me to take Sheba but Verne doesn't want to...I do and may force the issue on this one this time. Another one of her dogs is a foster failure named Bridger. Bridger is a Maremma/Akbash mix. A tall, short haired gorgeous boy who does NOT want to be a livestock dog at all and much prefers to be in the house. He has a wonderful personality. The third one may go back to the breeder as he is the one that she got when Pippin died and is the last one to join her group. Her Sam will definitely be staying at the farm as he was her heart dog.

So sad they will not be able to keep them. I inherited two dogs from a close friend of mine that died several years ago that i could not keep.
I had promised her before she died that I would make sure they got their perfect homes. They did - and both are still doing well.

Chelle's is where my dogs were to go if anything happened to me and Verne. Scarey to know that it really happens. They can definitely handle 2 dogs for working on the farm. The kids have been doing most the work with the dogs the past 2 years with Chelle being down with her health. They will only go to the bast of homes I know that. It would be so special for me to be able to take Sheba. Her pyr Dancer has some real issues with other dogs and some people but is very attached to Chelle's daughter. Sam is her first pyr like my Abby so will definitely stay at the farm. Dancer and Sam get along really well so it makes since to keep those two, send the youngest back to the breeder and rehome the 2 best ones.

How sad they are forced to make these sorts of decisions so soon. I hope Vern will come to terms with his 3rd dog

Pam, with your comment about your dogs were to go to Chelle, if something were to happen to you and Verne, truly has me thinking. Where would M&L go if something were to happen to Chris and I. Its something that we dont have a plan for and makes me realize that we need to get a plan in place. The last thing I would want for M&L is to be split up or to go to someone unknown.

Sadly, it is a subject that needs to be addressed, sooner rather than later. I remember we had this discussion a while ago on another forum and I still haven't been able to come up with anyone if the need arose - for Truman anyway, Kennedy would be much easier.

It is actually something I have discussed with our vet, our best friends, my sister and our attorney. We have a provision in our will. It is something that everyone needs to think about.

Jack is beautiful. I can see why he was a foster failure.

    I'll take Truman...

I have no family I ever would have any faith in caring for my dogs. Hattie is covered but my family is not dog people at all. I made Verne promise when I was in the hospital that my dogs were to come first if anything happened to me. Now I don't know but will be talking with Gina/Victoria with App Pyr Rescue as a place for them to go.

Well wonderful news that Chelle's family has decided to keep Sheba. I am so glad as her and Sam were her first pyrs. Now just Bridger needs a home. Good grief I called him Jack. Going back and correcting that. His real name is Captain Jim Bridger. If anyone knows someone who will like him please let me know. He truly is a kind dog.

If I were to pass my dogs would go straight to the pound. Family thinks dogs are ridiculous. I doubt hubby would keep them either.

He is gorgeous. If I didn't have to deal with the Tonka-tard I would seriously think about him. He looks like he would be a great backpacker. I hope they find the right home for him!

He is so very gorgeous. I wish I could scoop him up.
With all of Chelle's pyr contacts, I hope a good home finds him.

This does make you think about your own situation. We also don't have a plan in place, but I'm sure my dad would take the pups until he found them a good home. Very sad to think about.

I'm glad they decided to keep two of the dogs. Hopefully they'll find the perfect home for this one.
