First food/poop question

I say first, because I'm sure there will be many more as time goes by...

So a few days before I heard about the P&G buyout, I began switching Cash over to Innova. He has been transitioning for just over a week and is finally on all Innova. The more Innova in the mix, the softer his poop has become. Now that he is on all Innova, his poop starts out fine, but then turns to mush for the second half. He is also staying hunched over trying to poop more for a long time. How long do I give him to see if his poops return to normal? 3-4 weeks? He always had perfect poop on his old food (Eagle Pack) but had lost interest in it and was getting super skinny. So, now I'm wondering if I did the right thing switching.

Also, as for the P&G thing, we had decided to stick with it and just keep a close eye on developments rather than switching him again right away. Obviously, if the poop doesn't get better on the Innova then we'll be looking to something else.

I would give it about a month to be sure.

Is he on their Evo food? Or the standard Innova? Some people on Evo have mentioned that their dogs have had mushy poop until they cut back the amounts.

When Baron was on Innova he always had a solid followed my mushy. It never got better. We eventually switched because he was having major issues with IBD. In no way am I saying the two are connected but that was our experience with Innova.

He is too young for EVO...he's just on the regular Innova. I am just so bummed because we had absolutely perfect poops before, but if I can't get him to eat in the first place it doesn't really matter what the poop is like. He was eating well and still having good poop when I was mixing the two foods with 1/2 Innova or less. Maybe I should go back to a mix? Or maybe just give it time?

If the only problem with the poop is that it is soft (but still formed) I would give it a little time. If are unformed and/or have a really nasty odor (or something else) I would consider changing.

The first part is formed, but the rest is unformed and they don't smell good. Hmmmm...time for some more research I think.

I know that a lot of Swissies have this problem. Not sure why, it seems very odd. Since Baron has been on Merrick BG he has has the best poops he has ever had. If we go for a long walk or he gets really excited he still gets the runny poo but that has been normal for him since he was a puppy.

Oh, and when Baron was on Innova he had the worst gas EVER!!! And really smelly poop!

Sounds like Swissy poop to me.

That said...Innova was WAY too rich for Copper. I don't think he ever had a solid poop.
