Default Outstanding saint litter born.. rant

One of the most amazing saint litters was born last night from 22 year old frozen semen... the sire is the great grandfather of my litter and of yatta. He was the most amazing saint ever (according to me lol) it gave me goosebumps.. still does. I was up all night. I have such butterflies. Whats even better, is one of the lil buggers has my name on it. All I can say is that this is a dream come true. I grew up with him as my dream saint and in my head.. he is my IDEAL.

Benbaron's Yondo Von Gizer... a 200lb freight train, that moved like a dream. Won the national in 86 and 87... I was a mere 4 and 5 years old then.

The judge in this photo just put up his grandson Ustinov for a 4 point major at a specialty. Ustinov is the father of my current litter. My husband has been handling Ustinov for a friend, hopefully to his championship anytime now.

He is beautiful!! I'm a sucker for smooth coats too! I didn't realize there were smooth and rough coats in Saints until I started researching breeds a couple years ago. I had only ever met a couple Saints and they were rough coats so I just didn't realize. When I first saw the smooth coats I was enamored. Can't wait to see pics of your new baby.

That is very cool - so dogs aren't like some types of horses yet where frozen semen is a no-no? I think the technology is cool, and if you have a good dog it makes sense to be able to carry the genes on.

LOL Lora ! We were approved to get one.... this was the last bit of frozen semen out of him. They have always been pretty strict with their puppies, they want them to go to places that will do a lot of line breeding. Luckily, thats what I have between yatta and my current litter. It throws a wrench in a lot but its one of those things that we really cant pass up. Its also a situation where "beggers cant be choosers" I want a smooth male and ideally ill keep a bitch from my litter, but who knows if thats what i'll get. The only thing that would deter me at this point would be an insane amount of $.... the whole thiing is STILL giving me goosebumps!

What is line breeding? I have had the term before but don't know what it is. Thanks for enlightening me.
