I have a fabulous one on my suv. I have a twistep. It hooks into the hitch and swings out to a platform for the dog to use as a step. Its really easy to teach them to use it. Basja got to try it out when I saw her. Rufus refuses to get in the side doors now and drags me around to the back to use the twistep to get in. I'll take some pix tomorrow and post them

I really like the twistep, but I'm actually looking for something that will let the dogs get in and out from the side doors. Normally I have them get in and out of the back and it's no problem, but when we take longer trips and have to use the cargo carrier in the back trailer hitch, there's just not enough room for them get in and out of the back. And, the jump in from the side doors is pretty high because for longer trips I make them ride in their kennels so that means all the seats have to be folded down so they can't just jump in on the floor, they have to make it up to the folded seats. Duke does a really good job of using the floor as a step to get in and out, but Ruger hasn't quite figured that out yet. Any suggestions?

I have a ramp but have never used it. I do know what you mean about coming in and out of the side, though, as that's what we normally use. We had a similar issue with Indy at first, as she was more used to getting in and out of my SUV from the side, which is much lower than Dan's truck. I would say she learned from Gryffin a bit more than anything we did, but I did try to lead her through the process a couple of times.

I would think that most ramps are going to be the same for this type of thing - especially since you won't permanently attach them. While I can't tell you that the brand is the same, we pretty much have the full ramp like this. But, as I said, we've never needed to use it. It would be great for Beowulf at this point, but he's just as easy to pick up and put on the ground.

We got ours from overtons. It folds in half. The thing we have found is its just too darn big. How about a wood milk crate as a step. What about a mounting block. we have one with 2 steps. My mom uses it to climb into their high bed.

we have had 3... one broke with my 145lb older girl on it that one was from petsmart recently and it was rated for 300 lbs pft.

second was one we got from smart pack that rolls... that ones ok

and then we were given one that folds in half and it rocks! we use it for the mini van our huge dog show cargo van, and to get dogs up and down from our bathing tub.. thing is I have no idea where it came from. It is big and bulky but it hold atleast a 220 lb saint with no issues, ill see if I can get a name off of it.
