Default We are switching to Orijen

I just got a bag of Orijen dog food and am going to switch Greta over to it slowly with the rest of her EVO. She had no problems on it before, so I'm hoping it will go well. She was on the fish one before, we are doing the chicken one this time. The EVO was getting so expensive here that it was actually 2 dollars more a bag than the big bag of EVO. Last time she was on Orijen she lost weight, I'm hoping it will have that same effect because chunky butt needs to lose a few! She has been so lazy since it got unbearably hot here. I think it actually hit 100 here today. It was AWFUL!

So, I wrote a whole long post and then I guess I didn't post it. So here it goes but shorter, my fingers hurt. :P Max and Lola both lost alot of weight on Orijen fish, it was the only one I could get at the time, so I have no experience with other flavors. But when I started to fatten them up again, I used Satin Balls, and they basically made the switch to raw themselves, the refused to eat kibble so we went raw all the way. Hopefully Greta does well with the switch!

We've been seriously considering switching to Orijen as well. Although, I don't need either of mine to lose weight so I wonder if a different food would be better?

Well, little miss Greta is sort of a chunk butt right now and needs to lose a few, so I'm ok with her slimming down, but if I notice a considerable, scary weight change, or she seems like she's really hungry, I'll have to think of something else. I just feel like it's the best I can do for now, because I don't think, for many reasons, that I can do raw. I hope she does ok on the Orijen, I know quite a few doberman owners who feed it to their dogs, so I'm hopeful. Sarah, I think your dobes are more active then Greta, and I think if they are, they have to eat more of it, which would be insanely expensive in that case, so I don't blame you for not giving it to them any longer. We'll see how it goes for chunky butt.

I honestly think they just didnt like the flavor. Neither of them are real crazy about sardines so I think that was the problem, they just werent eating it. I think that if at the time I could have changed the flavor on them they would have been fine, but in Greece we could only get orijen fish or hills ::uke:::
